News

On Saturday, May 28th, we are planning a “Fizz & Nibbles” reception at Sedbury Cliffs for the walkers and you are welcome to join this gathering too. We are anticipating that the walkers will get to Sedbury Cliffs by 3.00pm. Depending on how much walking you want to do, here are some options to consider:

1 hour 10 minutes walk - park in Chepstow (all car parks are Pay & Display) and walk from there to join the Offa’s Dyke path at the bridge over the A48 at Tutshill (Joining Point 1 on the map - SatNav postcode NP16 7ED) which will take you approx. 25 minutes. It will then take you approx. 45 minutes to get to the cliffs along back streets and alleyways that are not always well signposted………I recommend meeting up with the actual Offa’s Dyke walkers because they will have a guide with them……….the walkers will probably be at this point between 1.45pm and 2.00pm, reaching the cliffs by 3.00pm

10-15 minute walk (easy walking along the Dyke but with the last 100 yards fairly steep) – this is known as Buttington Tump to Sedbury Cliffs - the map of the area shows you where to park your car which is now in the fields just off the Dyke (courtesy of the local farmer). The SatNav postcode NP16 7HD is approximate so watch out for the Offa’s Dyke signposts where it crosses the road and turn left up the dirt track following the Border Prayer Relay car parking signs rather than your SatNav.  PLEASE don’t park on the main Beachley Road. To join the walkers, wait at Buttington Tump (Joining Point 2 on the map) at roughly 2.30pm to 2.45pm…….or continue to Sedbury Cliffs and wait with the Fizz!

Please will you email Isobel Mead if you are coming,

to give some idea of the number of people to cater for.
